But it said to go with yes, unless there is an actual danger reason. Let them do these things without your supervision. If you don't want them with the oven, do that bit for them etc.

I forget to live by this lots, but I love when I remember and think "Why not yes?"

Today was a yes 😁

No is my default. I'm tired, achey, distractible. "Can I bake?"
My brain goes to how it will add to the already hellscape kitchen, I'll have to manage to focus to supervise, I'll need to have the mental space to handle the chatter and physical contact etc.

I was more a mix of benign neglect and "I gave you a sibling for that".

I was too late for much of the book (and too suburban... There aren't enough fields for kids to roam round here), but the key thing that has stuck with me from it is to (when I remember) ask "Why are you saying "no"?"

Ooh a few years ago I was drowning in laundry and someone paid for someone to come and take everything away and bring it back clean and folded.

It's the gift that only comes second to the birthday during COVID when my friends hired a hot tub for me for the weekend.

I frantically check where you're up to before I comment on anything 😂

I uninstalled ages ago because no-one was using it yet, so you and SpikesGuy are pretty much the only people I've deliberately followed...
