If you’ve paid attention to Emily Cureton Cook’s reporting from Crook County the last few years, you’ll see that this is very on-brand for her. Not that my $ makes much difference to OPB but her reporting is the #1 reason why I’m no longer a member.

And the words Obama uttered (snippets of which were played during the Shapiro interview) were so incredibly measured and mild, in classic Obama fashion.

I’d heard his podcasts and appearances but I’d never heard him in conversation/debate. When even mildly pressed, he is a lousy debater and poor communicator. His “lions and scavengers” metaphor is so weak and breaks down easily under the slightest scrutiny.
