Xylocopa micans, also known as the southern carpenter bee, loves dotted horsemint. Unlike its northern cousin, X. micans has not been found to construct nest galleries in structural timbers of building, making it less of an economic nuisance to humans.

Agapostemon splendens, commonly called the brown-winged striped sweat bee, is a native solitary bee of the southeastern United States. Males are metallic green on the head and thorax with striped abdomens, while females, like the one shown here, are fully metallic green.
