What a fascinating read… illuminating the conflicting feelings of immigrants/refugees and science fiction … learned the robe my ex teachers aide gave me as I left school is called Baarti. Learned a lot and imagined.. rather like sliding doors .. who would you be if…..❤️📚

Third SJ Parry book this year. Enjoying them.. not reading them in order but each book can be read as a stand alone. ❤️📚

Book 3 read … I thought it was to be a trilogy but I believe that’s not an ending! :)

Book 7 of 2025. Loved the concept, the characters and living a little in the early 1960s… worried all the way through that you may change things but what are the repercussions? Ending was unexpected and one part really really lovely x x

Books 2, 3 and 4 of 2025. Started this series after daughter introduced me to the author on holiday. These three were read in the correct order but I’d read the two last previously. A nice science fiction series. Good strong female characters without taking from male ones. #booksky #books

Book 5 of 2025. Read first one which daughter had taken on holiday. Interesting characters, good science fiction landscapes and love the dragons characters. #booksky #books

Book 6 of 2025.. a book club book that had an interesting and possible start. Some annoying Americanisms for a UK reader.. for example a barrette? But left me wondering and thinking about it afterwards which I like. #books #blueskybooks

First book of year was Shuggie Bain.
A hard read at times .. the bleak reality of difficult times on the poor and dysfunctional..Thought provoking, brutal and yet so compassionate. It twists your heart but I’m glad I read it. #books #booksky

Good morning
This is Lyra who has never quite worked out what the litter tray is for. She’s 10 now so I’m guessing she never will although I live in hope.
How are you?

So Taliban have now banned adult women from hearing another woman’s voice even when praying or reciting the Quran. So they can’t talk to a woman doctor, talk to another woman about a problem, pray together for comfort or just chat to another woman. It took 3 years.
