Gender equality makes societies happier. We used a longitudinal panel of countries to show that higher gender equality increases levels of life satisfaction for both women and men.

My TAs and I conducted an experiment in Introduction to Sociology using GPT. We compared our grading with the grading done by GPT models. The results were incredible.
When we supplied template answers, the correlation was very strong (see figure).

I am using 2017 ISSP data and I looked at the measurement of what it is label as "sex." I realized that it is actually incomparable across countries. In some cases they asked sex, in others gender, in some cases self-reported or interviewer observation. Am I missing a debate here?
