I remember taking a couple of films worth of all kinds of detail of various 304s with the intention of making the MTK white metal kit a resemblance. Then not getting the rolls developed and worse binning them as ‘no one will need that again’. 😢

How far in advance do you know your shift pattern? For example do you know when you’ll be working and what times for the next month or so?

It’s so bizarre to think of a Euston sleeper. These days I occasionally try and catch then Caledonian - forget it, sold out for months (but that’s different to a two hour run!).

I think a perfect day out, if only we could, would be 304 to Stockport, 104 to stalyvegas (front blinds open), type 4 and mk2s to York and the NRM still in its early phase. The only bit that still works is going to Rail Riders World at York, even if it’s called the York Tap these days!!

92 would make sense for this one. Is the destination blind saying Oxford Road via Styal?

The fires at the hotel (ie offices and a nightclub for the footie players) came later - circa 2000 then a rebuild, opening night two years later, and whopsee its burning again…

And that’s a four car too.

Great photo of a wonderful unit at my home station. The Queens Hotel has been refurbished and is illuminated, that places this late 80s - and well before it started to have curious ‘electrical fires’.
I probably asked you for a guards van ride at some point - I wonder what you said?!!?

I was only thinking about him the other day. Wai San Lu or similar. Used to wear a beige Parker, notepad and pen at hand, and EVERY sticker on 034 proclaimed kylie loves you 304034!
