Exhaust leak on the '80 #FJ40 caused a stuck valve that kissed the piston. Valves certainly shouldn't look like that.
Advice: when getting the manifold machined, have them machine it in ONE piece. Do NOT let them take the exhaust/intake manifolds apart to machine. Period. Thank you Remflex Gaskets!

Part of the journey with the FJ40 is connecting to the next generation and getting them excited in this special vehicle. Working on the '80 has already strengthened the bond between me and my son. The free labor doesn't suck either.

Hoping this becomes a place for all to share everything wonderful about the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. There is a reason this vehicle was made for 20+ years and also why people smile when they see one driving down the road. This is my 1980 - Named "Banzai4".

Hoping this becomes a place for all to share everything wonderful about the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. There is a reason this vehicle was made for 20+ years and also why people smile when they see one driving down the road. This is my 1980 - Named "Banzai4".
