For just a little while I got to call this place home. Now I realize that while it was amazing as an experience, any military kid or worker is only there because of imperialism. I’m sad that is the case, but I’m thankful for the chance to get to know the islands and connect with the natural world.

Any geology or fossil experts? Found in a creek in east central Illinois. I think it’s a crinoid calyx, but would love a more educated opinion. #fossil #geology #ecology #environment #naturalhistory
