This is totally reasonable but I just can't see it happening while the war is in living memory to be honest.

History tells me that in the 1960s and 70s the UK government was gearing up to negotiate relinquish sovereignty, and then the dictatorship changed the paradigm. How do you resolve that when the reality now is that the Islanders don't want to be part of Argentina?

Why do you think this changes anything? Your tattoo is still cringe as all hell

If you want to be considered the progressive choice, you need to reverse the entire direction of the Labour Party. The Labour Party of today is an insult to the memory of the founders and the achievers of the past. Fiddling while Rome burns is not the way, we need radical action.

The Greens are where the left aligned people who want to get stuff done will go, YP will be the home of only-online revolutionaries and USSR-nostalgics unless something drastic changes

I was someone who signed up to be part of the founding process, and I don't think there's any point handing out grace at this point: the ZS and JC seem at odds, the other MPs involved are ideologically all over the place, and they're allowing entryists from orgs like the SNP.

Highlights the absurdity of FPTP don't you think?

They were also predicting that it was to sow discord amongst his supporters, because "if trump likes him then he must be bad" is how they work, apparently. Something I've not seen in meaningful amounts either.

I had a scan of r/conservative this morning (wretched) and it seems like a split between the majority saying "trump is playing him, he will fail and then the Ds can't blame him for being unsupportive" and a small minority freaking out.

Munira Mirza, formerly Boris's policy advisor when he was PM was an RCP-to-rightoid person too

The Trotskyist to Telegraph pipeline is a real and terrifying phenomenon

Does this seem remotely likely to you?

I think if this is how it turns out, I'll so shocked - the messiness of it all has made a huge portion of YP's natural supporters decamp to the Greens (like me) and I worry that the core of what will be left is Galloway style red-brown campists

You defended the city well, loathsome tech-priest

This doesn't explain for a second why we went from less than 100,000 people using foodbanks in 2010 compared to over 2 million in 2022. Inequality is getting worse, obviously and measurably. The fact that you don't see it tells me that *at best* you are blinkered as hell.

Genuinely think there's a bit of a pathology with people who just can't accept good things happening, either some kind of self-defeating perfectionism or the cocooning of not wanting to actually make real efforts outside of posting with a side of "this guy ain't for real"

Why does this article claim that he's a "fake revolutionary" when he doesn't claim to be a revolutionary at all?

To that, I can only awkwardly raise my fist in salute

The only people who want to recreate Soviet systems are a small and powerless cadre of cranks, who are you trying to convince?

Markets are not intrinsic forces of the universe, they exist because humans acquiesce to them. Nothing inevitable about it at all
