This was the bed this morning as I got dressed. Fig is fully integrated and one of us.

Fig and Gemma have already become fast friends.

This is Fig. He lives with us now.

I got to play with this sweetie, who is looking for a forever home. Contrary to the look on her face, she super friendly in a non-pushy way, and impressively well behaved for a dog that is under a year old. She’ll be up for adoption in a few weeks, after she’s been spayed.

I got to cuddle these sweeties and their mama today. Mama is an itty bitty girl, who was living in the reserves. Once the babies are weened, they will all be up for adoption.

Gemma has been hanging out with me while I work.

I have a firm rule that I only pet sit, foster or adopt standard poodles now. (Lewis was grandfathered in.)
Beau has been staying with me for a while. His dad is at the tail end of a terminal illness. Taking care of him so she can focus on her husband is the one way I know of, to help his mom.

Lewis and Beau are doing everything they can to get in the way as I wash the floor.

It's been almost a month since I lost Souris to IMHA.
A list of things that are not helpful that I've been told:
- At least you still have one. (I still have 2.)
- Lucky you adopted her when she was older - imagine the pain if you got her as a puppy.
- Maybe it's time to try another breed.

Gemma is recovering from an infected cyst removal. One day, my dog won’t need to wear clothes.
