Also, wine isn't perfect. Some apps run well, others don't run at all. Apps that use the older versions of .Net (version <5.0) have the most problems

I get that. Truth be told, I'm impressed with your skills. The thing is, Linux is completely different. Windows executables (programs) don't work on Linux out of the box. For that you'll need to install wine. More over, I don't know if you'll need to extract the paint.exe from Windows

Also feel free to try out different distros. So far I tried Ubuntu, OpenSuse, Fedora, Nobara and CashyOS (this one is daily driver at the moment)

As for a guide, try this out www.guru99.com/unix-linux-t.... Over all, learning Linux involves a bunch of searching. Don't be discouraged if run into some problems. You can always post a question on official Linux Mint forum

Does it need to MS paint? I would suggest trying out some alternatives like Pinta. Otherwise you'll need to tinker around with wine
