Making tech stories real ✨
Glad it’s useful! Reminds me that I should pick this up again for current project…

I mean it *will* mean more explaining about the need for production ready code, but that sort of thing keeps me employable soooooo…

It’s on my list of things to do once my current project is over — exactly the sort of thing I’m excited about

I don’t know what about the Tesla left with its doors open outside Lionsgate HQ for half an hour makes you say this

I think she technically on here @elissejones.bsky.social but not sure if she’s very active: lmk if you want an intro

Ah, never got that far — too late. Managed to get the colour of the giant ”thermometer” on the wall changed to green from a throbbing red tho: small victories count too :) happy to chat abt it: would be wonderful to see Elisse get her (rightful) public due — a true unsung hero 💪🏼

(I tried to change the name from Transition, for all the obvious reasons, but it was too late.)

I was originally hired to ”tell stories” about it, and happy to fill you in if useful

Have a chat with Elisse Jones who led the programme (if you haven’t already)? She’ll know stuff. Jenni Moss might also have some of the things documented

”this workshop could’ve been a Claude prompt” = the new ”this meeting could’ve been an email”? 😆

Metaphors are useful! I’ve used loads of cliche ones, and do all the times. Familiarity is helpful, especially for audiences who haven’t thought about the new ideas or technologies you’re trying to explain.

But also: I’m really bored of the gardening one
April 2, 2025 at 7:35 PM
It matters, of course, because ”gardening” implies manageable pace, scale and risk. Which, you know…
April 2, 2025 at 7:30 PM
Though gardening metaphors for tech in the 2020s are as much of a cliché now as military and space travel ones were in the 2010s

Same same same!! 😀

So sorry to hear this — feel better x

The other ads in the series are about buying stuff or going for walks
