I never realised how lucky I am in that regard... I can just walk there if I want. The dudes there are fantastic too, I'm not sure I would have stuck with the hobby if it wasn't for their encouragement as I started out! I hope you get the chance to take part some time!

I got to take this home with me but more important in the end was the chance to share a hobby I'm so passionate about with a friend.

I didn't want to share my achievement when it happened because it felt like gloating but I was inspired today to share a moment which made me feel so happy!

They thought it was so great they immediately started to plan their own entry for next year... Maybe together with their sibling and me together (they're both under 10).

Then they announced that 1st place for the armies had won by a single vote. When they announced it was me... I was surprised to say the least. The best part of it all was how unsurprised my kid was because mine was clearly the best after all ❤️.

There were 4 armies in the category and I thought that gave me a good chance at 3rd, maybe 2nd on a good day. When we came back to pick my army up, they did a mini awards ceremony. The dude who took 1st for the display boards did so by a landslide!
