This is not meant to be a political account, but this is some of the craziest shit I’ve ever seen. Deliberate fear-mongering, misinformation & propaganda from the Trump regime all spell bad news for democracy, reason and peace. 🤦🏻‍♂️
DNI Tulsi Gabbard repeats Putin’s talking points today, releasing an unhinged video where she claims that “political elites” want a nuclear war with Russia because they have sophisticated bomb shelters that will help them survive it.

Football’s a funny game.🙄 #AusvJap

I’ve just witnessed the worst half of football from an Australian side EVER. Zero pressure. No control. Nothing close to a threat. Just appalling. The half time score flatters.

Another reason why MORE should be invested in science.
And yet Joe Rogan puts guests on who say "Vaccines aren't actually responsible for the reduction in infectious diseases.”

“Remember that time does not discriminate. If you can’t find two hours in a week to lift weights you aren’t trying hard enough. If you can’t find 30 minutes in a day to go for a walk outside you are better at making excuses than progress.”

Um, usually it’s best for medically qualified people to provide medical advice. Just saying.
RFK Jr: "It used to be that everybody got measles. And the measles gave you lifetime protection against measles infection. The vaccine doesn't do that ... it used to be that very young kids were protected by breast milk. Women who get vaccinated do not provide that level of immunity."

More research that suggests resistance training has significant health benefits in older populations.
Resistance exercise may be best type for tackling insomnia in older age

"Aerobic or mix of strength/aerobic/balance/flexibility exercise also effective"

Quite happy to have woken up my eldest son this morning with shrieks of pure joy after Pascal’s second goal. Pure. Joy.

Pascal Struijk became the first Leeds centre-back to score 14 goals for the club since David Wetherall in September 1997.

“Fundamentally, what we are training when we exercise are energy systems - we are encouraging a certain kind of chemical reaction in our body. The more we train, the more efficient these processes become, and we increase our capacity to repeat these processes. This is adaptation.”

That this is even an issue is outrageous.
Free speech is a cornerstone of science.

Scientists must be able to write the papers they want— and then the scientific community critiques that work, and consensus develops.
That requires free speech at every step. Not censorship from politicals.

Excellent writeup about how CDC (and now NIH) are interfering with the scientific freedom that good science depends on.

This part is right on. The publication restrictions are new. Prev clearance processes were lightweight and **done by scientists**. At NIH, often scientific directors did that. 1/

“We shouldn’t be merely focused on the appearance of health, we should aim to actually be healthy. We should be exercising regularly, have consistently good nutrition, and seek the company of those who we love. And then? Whatever will be will be.”

The secret to good health, and to optimizing your healthspan, is regular exercise, good nutrition, and enriching social relationships. That’s it. That’s the secret. Now you know.
