Oldie • night scrubs • small potatoes
Shiny objects: dollar bin comics, bubble gum cards, retrogaming, horror, space, pop art, schlock, pin-ups, pulp, vinyl, noise, cons, dive bars, seven-figure Scovilles, good beer, bad jokes, doodles, trivia, cat spam.
After monitoring my share of conscious sedation shoulder relocations, that actually sounds like a nice change.

There's a kitsch appeal to the artistic style and tone, but there's a legitimate shock factor at how earnestly hateful they could be. Kind of like Westboro, it's so blatant that at one point you had to wonder if there's really some hardcore satire behind the whole thing.

The glorious disco disasterpiece Nocturna: Granddaughter of Dracula never even made it to laserdisc (or even a priced-to-own VHS release). Ripe candidste for one of the boutiques, but at leastv a barely watchable rip is floating around.

Tom Araya, Alice Cooper, Dave Mustaine and Blackie Lawless are all headscratchers, but still less baffling than John Lydon and Exene Cervenka.

Wow, looking a lot like an inked-up Monique Parent.

The latest one had so much '90s Trek heart without feeling like a novel throwback.

Mel's awesome, so this is on the radar. Used to feature her often on WPG back at the other place, was bummed she didn't hang around here too long.

Wow, old home town. Used to get my comics and Garbage Pail Kids at "Hummel's News, Booze, Deli & Video"!
