Two suggestions I'd make for the upgrade section is God-Eternal Bontu, and Grimgrin, Corpse-Born. Bontu draws at least 5 cards every etb in my experience, and beyond the combo potential, Grimgrin can remove nasty blockers or synergy pieces from your opponents' boards.

Although this really makes me wonder why Varina isn't in the precon, especially given that she's mentioned in the Amonkhet-specific Sol Ring flavour text. Maybe she overlaps too much with the face commander?
