The reason I’ve been awake since 1.30am has claimed my lap as his territory. He’s fast asleep now, I’m shattered and dreaming of a decaf Irish coffee

I was working in a shop as a student & suddenly felt really weepy but couldn't understand why – until I realised that there was music in the background which I hadn't noted consciously but it was in a minor key and really got to me.
Music definitely influences my mood and influences my show tracks

Thanks to the other place and someone's son, I learnt a new term this week - bump. I think this cat needs to go to kitty rehab. That's more than a bump!

It's the Winter Fair at Ardingly, West Sussex on Sat and Sun, I'm meant to be going there to review it but it's weather dependent now - 58mph winds en route and not sure if we'll have more snow but there are fantastic stands there inc Bewl Water and Carr Taylor wines www.seas.org.uk/winter-fair/....

I found it fascinating seeing the tributes to John Prescott - we're talking what seems to be old-school politics, respect for people with opposing views.
But dismayed to see people celebrating his violent reaction to being hit by an egg. That would escalate these days
