Several of them are. And I have a very sweet relationship with someone who wishes she'd known about my mum earlier. These things are different for everyone of course ( and you'll do what's best for you!) but I can't help but regret the secrets, the lost time.

In the last few years, I've identified my mother's birth parents (DNA test...) and although she's dead and will never know, her grandchildren and g-grsndchildren know. What they make of it is theirs to decide and for me, it's part of a complicated story. I wish things had been different for her...
