This is definitely not even close to my position, and if you actually knew my situation, you would realize how absurd it is. But for now, just note that I didn't actually say anything about any of policy positions, but only talked about the reasons other people hold their positions.

Well, I mostly encounter your particular method of interpretation among left-leaning intellectuals who have no idea why other people don't like or agree with it and don't even realize it is a particular method.

Which actually has nothing to do with Richard Hanania, but a lot to do with the dismissive attitude of many left intellectuals towards a lot of people whose opinion varies from theirs.

But it has become habitual to deny that such interests exist and instead declare that certain groups could only take those views out of bigotry, no further analysis required.

Well, that's not what I meant by delegitimize someone's interests, or even close to what it could it mean. I mean that groups in a free, democratic have material interests that they identify for themselves.

Not in a free, democratic society. But most people don't seem to like living in free society, so they delegitimize the views they don't like, and complain when their own views get delegitimized, as if one didn't have to do with the other.

In addition though, rights are subject to political negotiation with other groups who have different interests or viewpoints. If you delegitimize those other groups interests, you are guaranteed a backlash.

Well not exactly new since I know one trans activist who has been saying this for years. But that's the only one and this method of advocacy needs to become more widespread.

And that's mostly about looking about who is saying what that actually has power on the right. Because those are the people you have to look out for. And that's when you might want to at least read what Hanania has to say, since he knows them from the inside.
