More recently have not companies been gaming the job market by issuing many open position notices that they have no intention of filling. They use the large number of open positions to intimidate their existing employees to not leave. They tell employees they could be replaced in a moment's notice.

To all of the young people who participated in the march: if you do not register to vote and cast a vote in November all of this is for not. I realize its a trip to the county clerk's office and that you have to hold your nose when you vote for the the less-worst candidate. Do action! Ban apathy!

My photo of the rally at the city-county building taken from the 1st floor of the Matheson Courthouse with the statute of Scott Mathseon in the foreground. Matheson was Utah's last democratic governor (1977-1985) before GOP autocractic gerrymandering kicked in.

My impression was that they were just young people doing what you have to do to pay rent, but their heart really wasn't into gathering signatures. It was kinda funny and sad at the same time.

Big irony as I was crossing State Street to go to the anti ice rally. Five young people dressed ghetto and carrying "Repeal the Fourth" signs with petition clipboards. They were all shouting "F*** ICE." Being paid to hustle signatures to support state autocracy while resisting fed autocracy. -:)

There are 1,760,511 Utah active registered voters, according to the Lt. Gov. Np evidence of voter fraud in Utah. Sen. Lee is going to make all .1.76M of us re-register before next November 2026 mid-terms? Sounds like an attempt to fix the next federal election by making voting difficult.

Photo 3 - 1-30-2026. From the first floor of the Matheson Courthouse looking at the general strike protest in front of the city county building. In the foreground is the statute Gov. Matheson, one of the last Utah Dem governors. In the background are young people protesting their democratic rights.

Cities that had ICE surges in 2025: Los Angeles; Minneapolis; Chicago; Charlotte; San Diego; New Orleans; Portland; Washington, DC; Raleigh/Durham.

The administration is using ICE as a political tool to polarize it's ultra conservative base to believe that Democratic run cities are mismanaged out-of-control, and violent, unsafe areas. ICE is targeting cities with pro-sanctuary leanings. ICE is political theater that killed 2 citizens.
