Take responsibility for your team's rhetoric then, Tom.

Everything about this seems pretty crazy. Including that Reuters shot of Gabbard. Reuters hasn't been bad for the Admin, the Admin likes spectacle and giving the conspiricy nuts fodder... I honestly wouldn't be phased if she was on the phone with the photographer. what a world.

Their entire MO is to "attack" a party no one would defend--Maduro, Iran nuke, criminal illegal immigrants... A force is deployed, and if that force is impeded or resisted due to its lack of restraint or some other illegitimate aspect, repercussions follow to establish pretexts for other goals.

They haven't got a problem with the states with the highest estimated population of undocumented immigrants--Florida, Texas, they don't mind having cheaper labor, workers with less protections contributing to red state ecnomies. It's all pretense.

It was signed at 2:31 pm and immediately executed by a team with saws and a Gabbard... It cites a law concerning record retention that would have expired 40 months ago!

The whole instruction is worth reading. Look how detailed Ham gets into explaining the limits of law, observations, expectations to the future Coast Guard--it is still sent out... can you imagine any of the current cabinet producing a document like this? founders.archives.gov/documents/Ha...

She was kept out of the loop on the Venezuela job because of trust. The Venezuela job was presented as a law enforcement mission. But now she qualifies to be part of a law enforcement mission?!?!

Nor ProPublica failing to point out the text of the 22 month statute only the criminal penalty one.

Hi Diedrich, you're a great poster. Yes someone should organize it. Washington would have been apoplectic. Please see Hamilton's orders to the original CE portion of ICE:

You don't think maybe he is thinking about "Washington's" birthday by referring to washington?
January 29, 2026 at 12:27 AM
I mean, you skeet about the criminal penalties USC cite but not the record retention cite in the subpoena?! Why?
January 29, 2026 at 12:20 AM
Doug! It cites a law concerning record retention for 22 months, it's over 60 months today! Isn't that notable?
January 29, 2026 at 12:17 AM
Can anyone imagine anything that would infuriate the current President of the United States more than "attempting to overcome difficulties" in this way? This is Washington speaking thru Hamilton, the fundamental order to the earliest federal law enforcement officers.
January 28, 2026 at 11:58 PM
And that the way they exercised their authority mattered in a free country! This should matter specifically to an agency drawing their heritage to Hamilton and Washington and the earliest orders given to the CE of ICE.

You have no idea what it means. It's presumption of a frankly lost regularity makes you feel good, positive and maybe that's why they deployed it. Or do these seem like people capable of being forced?
