Garden update: Yellow-faced bumblebee (Bombus vosnesenskii) fuzzy, wuzzy, buzzy 10/10. Osoberry (Oemleria cerasiformis) is expecting. Western serviceberry (Amelanchier alnifolia) is blooming!

When I bought my kinnikinnik last year a bystander mused “You’ll get old waiting for that to grow.” He wasn’t wrong…but what it lacks in new growth it makes up for in cute little flowers. #pnwnatives #gardening

Retaking this area back from the ivy and blackberries little by little…I mulched today so my stick farm really stands out now. I planted Nootka rose, salmon berry, thimbleberry, red flowering currant, mock orange and lots of snowberries (MVP of the PNW garden 🏆 ).

Osoberry (Oemleria cerasiformis) blossoms unfurling for the first time in my garden. I planted these last year after getting a wild hair to rip out the invasive blackberries. #nativeplants

Took a pause outside this weekend and spotted this woodpecker doing its thing. Just a few months ago this tree was drowning in invasive ivy. I am one person, but I can make a difference.
