After watching the New Jersey Devils play for the past month or so I’m fairly convinced they stand zero chance of making it out of the first round of the playoffs. I hope I’m wrong but… Losing 2 elite players for the season to injury plus the generally sloppy disorganized play isn’t going to cut it.

Sad news. Bill Gustin was a great instructor. A huge loss to the entire fire service.

Newsflash. Ginormous EMS conferences don’t care about you. They care about your money! I attend excellent symposiums, seminars, webinars, and in person classes at or close to home. Most of these are FREE! I’ll get my CEUs without having to spend thousands of dollars and give up a week of my PTO

If your fire department is having recruitment and retention issues and hasn’t figured out that the answer isn’t more money it’s the four platoon rotation then sorry to inform you that you’ve got your head up your own ass

My parents paid for my college education. I am doing the same for my kids. If you are financially able to pay for college but think you’re “teaching” your children a life lesson when you force them to graduate college in debt the only lesson you’re teaching them is that you are an asshole.

Just finished this book today. It’s the second one by Atul Gawande that I’ve read. This was excellent. Should be mandatory reading for anyone in healthcare

Probably the single greatest (yet most underutilized) lifting and moving device on your ambulance. Take care of it so it works when you need it!

Watching the Jets blow another touchdown plus lead. In the mean time Sam Darnold has 350 passing yards and 5 touchdowns for the Vikings

Excellent book. Infuriating and frankly terrifying. Worth the read. When you finish you won’t have an ounce of faith in our justice system

Paramedics 👇🏼
I feel like I shouldn't have to keep saying this, but it astonishes me that it keeps happening:

If your patient has a very obvious, painful, traumatic injury, give them analgesia. Give them proper doses & give it early.

Yes, even if they aren't screaming.

Don't let people suffer quietly.
