Sexy squidward J’onn looks better in this attempt. Took it slow with the inks. Other panels were a fight with whiteout on mistakes, but this felt good.

Redid the last page, fixed the room, etc. so it follows the original script of JLU The Lost Episode by @jmdematteis.bsky.social

Lots of areas to work on but it’s getting better, closer to how I want it to look. I’m going to move on but revisit when it’s time for colours and letters on computer.

…the bright side is I was trying to figure out how to make it work so MM doesn’t get canceled for workplace harassment, so it’s accidentally absorbing Fire attraction.

I’m still working on “The Lost Episode” by @jmdematteis.bsky.social , and it’s a learning journey for sure. Trying not to be a pest, but I wanted to let anyone who’s curious know this is the point I’m at today.

I also got a copy of the FRENCH version of Watching the Watchmen by Dave Gibbons for $20(!!!), which is okay because I’ve been learning French on Duolingo! Learn languages to save money! Curious what size the sketches were vs the pages, but I’m taking notes on how professional artists work. Genius.

I’m not doing the Timm style bc I’m trying to develop my own art style, whatever it may be.
So I worked out some things bugging me from the pages, including Dibney’s head and look. Long neck, hair bean, nose. Build compared to J’Onn. I’ll do this for the rest of the cast, I think.

Here’s practice at the characters in the story, in graph notebook for comparison. Seems like what Dave Gibbons would do.

This is it! I want to see how much I improve after a whole issue. This was fun.

I posted these on instagram, and I drew them at my job during lulls, so I seem to have shadows on everything.

Page two happened because I didn’t plan anything and I was using 11x14 instead of 11x17, and it was fun, so I did page two. The dialogue could be funnier, so assume it’s the intended vibe.

I should probably learn how to make comics scanning the pages on computer so the words are cleaner, but for now I had fun.

Did some silly doodles last week when I was thinking about the letter by @gailsimone.bsky.social and the rpg geek in me wondered what her x-powers would be. If she turned into a bear, what type? Her answer was “flying”, so I did the X-men version. I dont do comics often but after this I’m hooked!

I’m wondering where to post art so people can see it. I’m not professional (don’t know how to scan & photoshop), but I enjoy seeing comments.
