FRNSW is investigating whether an overloaded power board caused a house fire on Adamson Avenue, Thornleigh. In 2025, FRNSW attended over 3000 home fires, with nearly 10% (300) due to overloaded electrical systems. Avoid overloading power boards and outlets. More information: frnsw.net/powerboards

STRATHFIELD - Fire on the top level of a seven story unit complex on Cooper Street. Initial reports have the balcony on fire. Firefighters have water on the fire, time of call 13:14. More to follow

CROYDON PARK - A working smoke alarm alerted occupants to a basement carpark fire on Blenheim Street, Croydon Park. Firefighters quickly extinguished the car fire, thanks to the alarm's early activation, minimising damage. No injuries were reported, and investigations are underway.

BLACKTOWN - FRNSW assisted NSW Ambulance paramedics and doctors on scene with treating casualties after a crash between 2 vehicles and 3 pedestrians who have suffered serious to critical injuries. Firefighters also cleared and rendered site safe for police investigators.

LITHGOW - Fire and Rescue NSW technical rescue and hazmat specialists are on scene assisting at a crash on Inch St. A truck has collided with an overhead bridge causing it to collapse. NSW Police are the lead for this operation.

CALLAGHAN | UPDATE - Truck fire - fire still burning but is contained to truck and load of oil in a yard. Fire is located in the vicinity of high voltage electricity infrastructure which is NOT impacted. At this stage no power interuptions.

CALLAGHAN (Newcastle Area) Truck on fire in high voltage electricity facility on Wirra Cresent. At this stage fire is contained to truck and load of oil. Approx 30 persons evac from site as a precaution. No injuries reported.

MOOREBANK - Heathcote Rd. FRNSW has contained a fire in an industrial complex. The fire continues to smoulder in inaccessible areas of the building. No injuries, Heathcote Rd remains closed.

SPRING HILL (Camden Area) - FRNSW is responding more than 15 fire trucks to assist the Rural Fire Service at a large fire in a waste transfer facility on Barrow Road. FRNSW response includes aerial ladder trucks and hazardous material response units. RFS are the lead for any media comment.

WOLLSTONECRAFT | FRNSW is working with @nthsydneycouncil to reduce the bushfire fuel in the Badangi Reserve Oyster Cove using a low intensity burn. Only part of the reserve will be ignited to protect the eco system whilst reduing fuel loads.

EASTERN CREEK - M7 - Truck Fire update - recovery efforts continue - FRNSW HAZMAT Teams currently siphoning fuel out of the melted fuel tanks before the heavy tow moves in to remove the burnt out truck and trailer. M7 southbound will be closed for some time.

HORNSBY- FRNSW is leading a controlled burn on Rosemead Road, with assistance from RFS and Hornsby Shire Council. This strategic, low-intensity fire aims to diminish bushfire risks by reducing fuel loads over 4.5 hectares, impacting the area around 123 residences.

LEURA - Great Western Highway - FRNSW working to contain a large diesel spill after a truck jackknifed blocking the highway in both directions. HAZMAT crews are on scene with absorbent, no injuries reported.

WOODBERRY (Maitland) Single level house well alight and threatening to spread to adjoining properties. 2nd Alarm response - 6 trucks with 22 firefighters. Police and Ambulance attending. No reports of injuries or any person missing at this stage. We do have water on the fire.

BRIGHTON-LE-SANDS - fire in a house has been extinguished on General Holmes Driver near Rowley Street. No injuries reported, traffic sound bound impacted due to fire trucks operations. Will clear when we can. Time of call 12:42.

SWANSEA - Pacific Hwy (main strip) power transformer and pole ignited just before 5am. FRNSW established a saftey zone and ext once power was turned off. Energy and police on scene. Check live traffic, may still be power outages. FRNSW finished operations at 06:50. no injuries

Penrith Area - FRNSW firefighters worked for about 90 minutes to cut the wreckage of a car away from a driver who was crushed in the vehicle that split in two after a crash on Dunheved Road just before 1:30am. NSW Ambulance paramedics treated and transported the driver.

CASTLE HILL | A fire in the kitchen area has been contained in a childrens fun centre on Hudson Street Castle hill. Approx 50 evcuations, no injuries. FRNSW crews still on scene checking the kitchen exhaust system which goes up through the roof. Time of call 11:30.
