Excellent points. Fire managers from forested areas of the West are sometimes stunned by how soon a given area here can reburn. It doesn’t need to be decadent “old growth chaparral” to reburn! You are spot on. Fuel breaks and prescribed fire may have limited efficacy bc of the needed repeat cycles.
