We have bypassed the issues you brought up, and don't utilize FCM, and our users still get push notifications, and we protect their anonymity.

One of our sources for scraping, padlet, has been targeted and shut down.
We have been informed other sources of ours have been targeted as well.
We are still up and running.
Our scrapers are being retooled to continue on ahead. But issues may arise for the time being.
