Finished Dispatch, loved the finale. Got a fun little interview piece coming this weekend about the unlikely catalyst that makes the climax work too, so y'know, stay tuned

Those old Animal Crossing commercials were art

I know Dispatch is a rom-com but I'm starting to like it better when it isn't. The date scenes are cute. The hangout scenes are way better

As a former caregiver, I was not prepared for And Roger. Fucking hell. Essential game of 2025 and one I will never be able to play again

Expanded Animal Crossing storage is the year's best news for demented hoarders like me

I'm usually not that interested in superhero stuff, but: Dispatch good

All you people reminiscing about the PS2 without mentioning Tales of the Abyss need an intervention (the intervention is playing Tales of the Abyss)

Starting Rogue Trader for the first time, and no one told me Freddie Mercury is a playable origin character

If you're playing Outer Worlds 2 and are mean to Niles, you should have your video game priveleges permanently revoked. This man must be cherished and nurtured at all costs

I'm replaying South of Midnight ahead of A Thing and I think it's tied with Silent Hill f as my favorite of the year. Sure some of the action-platforming bits are wonky but it's some of the best (and certainly the most natural) storytelling of anything I've played this year

I never nickname Pokemon but after seeing the Mega Starmie leaks, I'm tracking one down as soon as possible in Z-A, naming them "Kinky Boots," and keeping them in my team forever

In Chapter 2 of Yotei now and am convinced this should've been two games (and more linear), for mechanical reasons but also for storytelling. The credits rolling after the Oni sequence, then Game 2 starting with the Oshima Coast raid? Would've been incrediblly good. Wasted cool points

Fine, I'll add to the discourse.

Esquie Expedition 33 doesn't need his own story. Not everything needs explaining, and it's good to leave successful things alone sometimes

Me getting ready for battle with the harmless snake in my garden

Don't get me wrong, I think Yotei's speed boost flower pads are pretty and cool. But I think the real answer to the question "how do we move players through the open world faster" is to make it smaller with less dead space

Silksong brainrot's still firmly rooted. I was skimming the new Pokemon trailer and thought oh, Bell Beast... wait...

In my piece earlier, I pointed out an odd discrepancy in Microsoft's valuing of Ubisoft+ Classics ($15.98) and the value everywhere else ($7.99). They've since added an editor's note to the original Xbox Wire post clarifying that it's the combined value if you had subscribed to it on console and PC

Xbox Wire likes to pretend at journalism but you'd never find a (worthwhile) journalist obfuscating information like this.

"Oops, accidentally put the graphic at the end of the section instead of under the H2! Sure hope no one thinks those benefits were for Essential members!"
