Going to have to take a week off from the counterprotests I think - I'm in so much pain and my visible spent most of the afternoon beeping at me.

For reference, I'm not supposed to go over 13 points.

Aberdeen is doing its usual - if it's a day or night when we're supposed to watch things in the sky, the haar comes.

Fireworks through the glowing silver mist might be eerily beautiful anyway, but I wish they were silent. We'll be inside with the kitties, keeping them as calm as we can.

Happy Samhain to all who celebrate 🔥

I shared a Samhain ritual with friends for the first time in a long time, and I'm so grateful. It was a beautiful way to honour who and what we've lost, and what light we'll be holding on to in the coming dark.

I miss my mother.

Ten years ago today my first article was published. It was about Nazi extermination of disabled people and the echoes in modern politics.

Foolishly, back then I believed people would use the tactics but avoid overt links. I didn't imagine a decade later I'd be facing down open and proud Nazis.

Tonight we countered yet another mob harassing asylum seekers. This was my sign, and it made them very angry. Not one of them understood it. They say this is disrespectful to those who died. It is vastly more disrespectful to stand with actual Nazis yelling the 14 Words, which they did tonight.

Aberdeen Against illegal Migration, the local hotel shouters (who happily and knowingly welcome actual Nazis (the kind who post swastikas and photos of Hitler saying 'I tried to save you') to speak at their events, have the unmitigated gall to change their header to a remembrance image.

I hope the Hotel Shouters get a new hobby soon. Even leaning on the barrier almost all the time, this is my visible chart. The recovery days suck. I either have to stagger which ones I go to or I need to start taking my wheelchair, which puts other people at risk if the fash kick off.

Strange stormlight tonight

After last week's Hotel-Shouting Team put up the 14 Words, this week one of us had a sign saying 'Nazi scum'. Their speakers this week included a man who was fired from the military for his neo-Nazi links and a fake priest who's been posting 88 in response to 14 online.

The Aberdeen Hotel-Shouting Team has managed to combine the 14 Words (global Nazi slogan) with a poppy banner celebrating infamous antifascists. Incredible work.

Now most people who need to know, I can stop being cryptic. My mother passed away on the 3rd, and while it wasn't out of the blue it was much faster than expected.

She was remarkable and I relied on her in so many ways. I am lost, and heartbroken. Here she is just before walking me down the aisle.

It's so easy to do the main one and at the end of the alt-text say 'alt text continued on next image/in next post' and then use a picture like this (what I do with long text pics)

Nemo doesn't like being picked up but is otherwise the snuggliest cat in the world. Here he is sharing Doug's pillow this morning.

If you're free tomorrow, please join us in Westhill for this community event from 5-7pm. We'll have some food, art supplies, music, and we'll hear from people who have been helped by the residents.

If you'd like to come there are regular buses or contact me and I'll put you in the lift pool.

It is 80 years since Hiroshima and Nagasaki burned. This is the poem, from Andrea Cohen, which haunts me.

The threat is close in these dark days. This is no bygone fight.

Some of my photos from today's Stop Trump Coalition protest in Aberdeen ❤️ thanks so much to everyone for coming out and showing the world (and our elected leaders) we don't want fascist rapists welcomed into our country. Once I've had time to caption and edit, I'll put my speech up too.

Went down to see the Tall Ships in Aberdeen - it was a wonderful day! We got to see around the oldest fully rigged ship in the fleet because a pal was sailing with it. Amazing to see so many people from all over the world ❤️

Very long day coming down at 6am and being outside Parliament until 8.30pm, but am finally going to bed!

Tomorrow I'll be there from around 1pm, and we'll be doing what we can to remind Labour MPs of what the rosette they wear actually means.

Come join us if you can ❤️

My favourite Internet trend right now, which I think? started with this amazing video. People (usually POC, most often Black women) aggressively supporting their person while they joyfully tell you about their hobby. I watched so many and love them all.

I am begging, even if you think there's no point, even if you have tried before, please contact your MP and ask them to vote against the cuts on the 1st.
