The Bible was written by people. You said people were fallible. Ergo the bible is untrustworthy.

That's entirely the point. Violence is violence no matter who did it didn't condone it.

Violence was done in the name of religion. That's all that matters. If religion didn't exist, neither would that violence.

So how am I supposed to know what God's word is?

Yes, it does mean it's unclear.
