Horrible. I don't know if this is electoral calculation, actual belief in anti-trans hate ideology or stupidity. Very disappointed in Alliance also, I know they specialise in not taking a real position on much of importance but where is their basic decency?

Ah it did me going to read this again, an all time evergreen comedy gold classic 😂

Great thread, useful for Irish people too!

JFC, the bias of RTE has gone from blatant to breathtaking 😭

Agreed. We don't have to like every single candidate or policy of their party, that will never happen! It's the only realistic hope of a change from FFG after a century of their centre right duopoly.

She really is the only one on RTE I can bear to watch. It is possible to be an good, tough interviewer across the board without incompetence, blatant bias or sneering.

There has always been bias of course but the last year has really blown the lid off any surviving pretence, in Ireland and elsewhere. Twisted, blatant propaganda machines telling us that black is white and up is down. On Gaza alone, an independent peer review would expose RTE's rank complicity.

Oh my god, the excitement! We'd get the RTE Guide and Radio Times, genuinely half the fun of Christmas.

Something like that really knocks you back on your feet, how easy it is to be totally insulated from life often just a few streets away. And it only takes a generation or two of being even slightly higher up the class ladder for that to happen, I've seen it myself.

My god, RTE news have gone all out on shredding any remaining journalistic credibility over the last few months. Although after a year of "Hamas run" and "Israel says" there wasn't much left to shred.

It's like a joke I saw about Keir Starmer - we were told he was a human rights expert but it was never specified if he was for or against, genius really. Harris is slightly less genius, all he had to do was maintain the minimum pretence of humanity until after the election!

Incredible work by all involved! 👋👋👋

Ah I think that's a global human problem, nothing to do with descent. Greed and self interest are issues every country in the world has to address.
