Going through my mums sewing box and found this extra fine thread for mending nylon hose. Extra fine, liked the recommendation to “use several strands to darn feet” My mum is 94 today - part of the make do and mend generation.

In a plastic bag, I found a book. No cover, it’s in a terrible state but my great aunt kept it. I think it’s c.1893, and it’s American. P19 is the first page we have. It is full of pictures from around the world (Plus Grover Cleveland, his cabinet, some generals and politicians).
