Member of the Iona Community, C of E priest, student (again), not enough time for dogs, books, baking, walking, reading. Longing for justice to roll down like waters.
I could weep. The chainsawed stems are what remains of a beautiful compact bay tree. We knew the far tree (also gone) needed cutting back because squirrels were getting into the roof space using it. But the nearest tree wasn't a problem at all. And the leaves were wonderful for cooking.

HIDDEN by Peter Walker Sculptor in @stpetermancroft.org.uk Lovely to see people sitting on the altar steps watching the colours play across the surface with the soundscape shaping a meditative atmosphere. @luxmuralis.bsky.social

We broke out my favourite altar frontal for our patronal festival. Look at those wonderful birds. @stpetermancroft.org.uk

Fascinating to see search dogs training in @stpetermancroft.org.uk Charles, the springer spaniel, inspecting the pews, and Rosie, the fox red Labrador, indicating a find. Explosives had been concealed in the sedilia. You can make up your own joke about the nature of our preaching. #CofE #WorkingDogs

I can't tell you how exciting it is to find this in our city centre churchyard. It's hedgehog poo! We've also found crushed snail shells. We have a hedgehog, perhaps more than one. @stpetermancroft.org.uk #EcoChurch

Reading We Are Not Numbers (WANN) Ahmed , who edited it contributed to a week on Iona. It is beautiful and devastating in equal measure. The yearning of young people for a life free from fear, from war, from oppression. WANN arose after the 2014 attack on Gaza, the third war as the book opens.

A privilege to preach at evensong at New College Oxford yesterday evening. I was rather grateful that I didn't know beforehand that Tom Wright was in the congregation. Good to be reminded of the historic links between St Peter Mancroft and New College through St John Maddermarket.

Looking serene in the afternoon light, the high altar at St Peter Mancroft in Lenten array. I love the simplicity.

Stir up, O Lord,
the wills of your faithful people;
that they, plenteously bringing forth the fruit of good works,
may by you be plenteously rewarded;
through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Christmas pudding is made, the Christmas cake fed, the advent candles have arrived. Getting ready...
