Just starting on my first novel, hoping to connect with other writers on a similar journey

Pour une fois
J'essaie d'écrire en français
Mais je préfère
La langue de Shakespeare à langue de Molière

Just for once
I will try to write in French
But I prefer the language of Shakespeare over the language of Molière

Love this picture of the cats that my son took. It's a rare photo of the cat in the background as we scarcely see her when the weather is this nice!

The grass, the trees, the sky!
I am a green writer.

Can you justify not writing if you are just thinking about where it goes next?

Today I worked (I'm a temping chef) next to the national library of France and spent the whole day staring out the kitchen wanting to go browse.

I know where the book is going! Long journey to get there but the plot at least is coming together ❤️

My story started off in 2018 and it's just slipped sideways into 1942. Now I need a neat way to make it all tie together. Is it very reductive to do a timeslip novel? I feel those have been done to death (Highlander etc)

Cold May in Paris
Blossoms fall like snow on the green

Today's challenge will mostly be working on dialogue. Any tips for a beginner?

Any bilingual writers out there constantly fighting the battle to translate words in their head? My book is set in France, where I live and I am writing in English (my mother tongue) but there are SO many terms I don't translate on a daily basis!

Not going anywhere today apart from down the rabbithole. Another beautiful day and my book is so sad right now, I want it to be pouring with rain!

It's a beautiful day in France. Who else is out there writing?
