I want to know much more about exactly how & where that happens, so we can stop it! There should be comprehensive testing of what the leachate contains before any more goes anywhere. Perhaps we need to nationalise waste disposal as well as water companies. And hold them both properly accountable!

I’d also add a) it’s as much how you drive as the vehicle and b) there’s quite a difference between a large car that still fits in normal parking spaces and the trucks that don’t …

I replaced my 9 year old diesel estate car with a new hybrid SUV. I’d have preferred to get a smaller car but my elderly parents really struggle to get in and out of normal height vehicles. I try to manage so I’m always on electric power in town. It’s complicated.

That seems to apply to most streaming services, you just get more of the same. This is why I still listen to radio, I occasionally discover bands I’d never heard of that I really like.

I didn’t fully realise the impact of the Gulf Stream on the UK until I visited Nova Scotia in Canada: same latitude as northern England. The sea freezes in winter! Things would be very different here.

Brilliant! If that was easier to do, maybe more people would perceive an EV to be an asset not just a range worry. Even our hybrid’s 18kWh battery is bigger than the 13kWh powerwall linked to our solar panels.
