Here for things that feed my soul: friends, kindness, reading, crafting of all sorts but especially those involving yarn or thread, freshwater aquaria, cute animals, absurdity and shenanigans.
This one was a learning experience. Same base pattern as last time, but for some reason, I decided to separate a pair of variegated cakes for mini squares, join-as-you-go per The Patchwork Heart. I quite liked the process and am very pleased with the results. #crochet #yarn #imadethis

2/2 Now I have one less project taking up space in my closet, and two more blank books taking up space in my desk.

Result from 1/2 of an old Crafter’s Box workshop taught by Bari Zaki. The video was helpful, but I found the printed instructions vague and/or incomplete. Unfortunately, I do not have a “watch a realtime video of a long process” sort of temperament. I do want to make more, though!

I finished a thing! This has been in the works off and on for 3 months or so. Main body pattern is from Spring into Summer Blanket by Susan Carlson of Felted Button, with an improvised border. Yarn is slightly more than one cake of Caron Skinny Cakes in Spumoni. #7 hook.

re: generative AI

I have finally fully and accurately explained my problem with how it’s marketed and used.

And now, you can use it, too.

This ferociously brave little terror will happily hang out within 2 feet of me and the feeder as I putter around the garden. Sometimes, joy arrives in very small packages.

Ah, sewing is 90% prep and 10% making. Knitting is 10% prep (incl. brewing tea/coffee) and 90% making.

'Twas ever so.

I’m trying a new croissant recipe, having splurged on Callebaut chocolate batons. They look promising despite a bunch of unintentional delays which turned them into a 3-day process full of skepticism. Now we see if they survive the next 48 hours in my house. #baking #croissants #patienceisavirtue

Nothing active in progress right now*, but here are a few recent FOs for humanity tax.

*That’s a half truth. There are >20 sewing, knitting, crochet, weaving, needlework, paper crafting, and other projects in need of my renewed attention, but none are satisfying the need for distraction right now.
