Oh I know why they want us there, I just can’t see any reason to oblige them.

We've learned they don't listen to arguments, don't change their views when presented with new information, and mob anyone who opposes them. Why the FUCK would we want to visit their shitty digital neighbourhood to debate them on the street and tell them our plans?

Every time i read it again I hit the read it again instruction. I've just been stuck in a loop until my cat distracted me by biting me on the neck. Please be more considerate with your instructions.

Yeah. Listen to their rhetoric about attitude, grinding and mindset & take them at their words. Take ALL their money away leaving them destitute. If their rhetoric is true they'll be billionaires again in a month so no harm done. Plus the wealth they gave away will trickle down to them, right?

That's an awful but familiar thing for anyone who's suffered such a loss.

Wordsworth's poem "Surprised by Joy" sums it up perfectly: "Surprised by joy—impatient as the Wind
I turned to share the transport—Oh! with whom
But Thee, long buried in the silent Tomb"

I'm sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear that. You gave him a great life and some brilliant final days.

Is that one of George W's old expressions he's wearing?
December 13, 2025 at 9:08 AM
My point exactly. I worry sometimes that people assume sharing their outrage is, by itself, enough. It won't be. It will take organisation, sacrifice and effort. And as always, the best time to plant an apple tree is twenty years ago - the second best time is today.

They're the best players! Apart from the slovenly bit. Also make sure the spelling is correct on the invitation to the game. You don't want any slovenly trolls turning up.

I will add that the rage doesn't show - I don't start acting like an ass, it's all kept inside, although I may be tempted to hurl meteors at characters if it goes on too long.

Rare opinion I know but food. I have raging misophonia and the sound of people eating (particularly while talking) sends me into a Bruce Banner style rage. My problem I know, not their's. I mainly GM online now so it's not so much of an issue.

50-50 whether that's from someone who wants to check a fit or someone with a fetish
December 12, 2025 at 1:21 PM
That's quite an angle, right?

i always liked them, but they're so common in AI generated slop that I'm training myself off them lest I be accused of being a replicant

I’m afraid it is. The US has been doing appalling shit in other counties for decades. All that has changed recently is that they’re doing it to their own people more openly now. Vast areas of the Middle East and South America could tell you stories that would make Trump look like a saint

The image is from Laugh Clown Laugh, in which the clown figure (Chaney) is actually a rather tragic and non-scary figure - an older man who falls in love with a much younger woman and kills himself (as part of a deliberate stage accident) in order to get him out of her life. Classic Chaney.

“A clown is funny in the circus ring, but what would be the normal reaction to opening a door at midnight and finding the same clown standing there in the moonlight? There's nothing funny about a clown in the moonlight.”
― Lon Chaney (died 1930)

Quite right too - people should create what they want to create, anything else leads to watering-down of enthusiasm and compromise of what makes them a creator in the first place.
