MTT wants entertainment, so you can gift him Tenna! It may/may not lead to much, but MTT could come out of his shell someday. He's been given hope, and I hope Papyrus does too.

Besides, MTT lives in his house just a couple blocks away from Papyrus—it's hard to watch, being so close yet so far.

To no discredit of Toriel and Asgore's influence, a poster child of divorced parents, SpamTenna is next level. There's that egg, and by god that divorce was contentious. I mean, Spamton and Asgore really went DOWNHILL because of it.

Papyrus+MTT+Tenna have sections of the game dedicated to playing mini-games, solving puzzles, and doing quizzes. MTT+Tenna give you fame, even if fleetingly.

Spamton+Papyrus had goals for high status and constantly mention what that goal was: being POPULAR—part of the Royal Guard—or a BIG SHOT.

All four are boisterous—not bad, but very eccentric/loud; the soundfonts are abrasive, and talk a LOT. It's hard NOT to pay attention, with them constantly trying to making themselves known and present—MTT+Tenna on TV for people to watch, Spamton+Papyrus with plenty dialogue and close proximity.

All four characters share an obsession with popularity and making it big, getting high approval ratings and playing mini-games/quizzes.

Everyone's entertainers, so lonely, so isolated, with no idea know how loved they are. [BIG SHOT] status is a slim chance, and two have failed that already.

The key difference is the successes are only able to be shown in Undertale. The circumstances make it impossible, as Mettaton has no fanbase and Papyrus grows distant, the bone trousles faded and the house is silent. Neither have idols, neither become idols, neither are well connected.

Mettaton + Papyrus get much more recognition and support, they are loved and know it, they have goals to achieve and have achieved so much already. While their self-confidence is low, yet they want to combat that—they live, they get back up, try again. They can be happy, as they are DETERMINED.
