Yes but what makes it a hate crime is the fact that teens and adults are GROUPING together to beat gay people all around the state. Sure you have to hate someone to beat them usually but the fact that many “straight” men are doing this is insane. A hate crime isn’t just one occurrence it’s multiple.

So - if straight men were attacked in a social trend to beat them up simply for being straight. You wouldn’t call it a hate crime? Works for brains. No thinking.
