I don’t want nuclear because of the financial burden.
It is not economical.
No company would ever invest in this technology without state intervention and massive subsidies.

Just look at the financial Desaster in France or at the new plants in the UK or Finnland.

You can adjust nuclear technically but it is extremely expensive to turn them down 90% of the time.

Correct, we are emitting more than other countries.
Also true, we are emitting less and less during the phase out of nuclear power plants.

The main issue for German emissions is caused by coal.

Show me the data.

There are no more nuclear reactors and carbon emissions are declining.
Nuclear power plants need to run constantly, replacing renewables at these times.

You would still need the gas power plants if you were doing renewables & nuclear.

No private company wants to run them anyways

Renewables plus batteries
Hydro, thermal, biomass on top

Natural gas during the transition for exceptional circumstances.
September 12, 2025 at 1:15 PM
Just look at the article.
It is both the highest share of renewables and the lowest carbon emissions.

After switching all nuclear plants of.
There is no indication that the nuclear plants are missing.

In times of wars and conflict I would rather choose a decentralized and independent energy system.

Not a potentially extremely dangerous target.
September 12, 2025 at 12:13 PM
Nuclear is terrible as an addition.
It will replace renewables at all times.
It needs to run constantly and new reactors are expensive af.

So, why then advocate for a solution that takes ages, instead of investing in wind and solar power?

Those are quicker to scale and cheaper.

He is clearly talking about the effectiveness of his political organization.

As compared to leftist influencer constantly fighting amongst themselves and against the Democratic Party.
September 12, 2025 at 12:12 AM
Great advice.
I am already exited for paying even more for energy in 20 years…
September 12, 2025 at 12:09 AM
Do you seriously believe that Ezra Klein does not extend this to everyone?

The reason for advocating against political violence is that both sides are victims of that.
And politically praising political violence in opposition is just stupid, especially faced with a wannabe dictator as president.
September 12, 2025 at 12:07 AM
That is a war and invading soldiers in another country.
Is there no difference to you?
September 10, 2025 at 8:38 PM
So true.
Just a glance on comments on here is terrifying.
Supporting and cheering political violence is extremely bad.
September 10, 2025 at 7:02 PM

September 4, 2025 at 11:40 AM

September 3, 2025 at 5:23 PM
September 1, 2025 at 9:54 AM
September 1, 2025 at 8:57 AM
Wenn man keine Zwei Staaten Lösung will, muss man irgendeine bessere Alternative vorschlagen!

There is no evidence for the lab leak theory.
In fact, there isn’t even an entire theory. Just a binge of assertions and conspiracy rumblings.

All of the first cases happened around the market.
The lab is 15 km away from that place.

Currently, the likelihood for a lab leak is less than 1%.

This was aired!

But nobody cared back then.
July 14, 2025 at 4:45 PM
I don’t think that this is the reason!

There are grifters in the administration that profit if information and a complete lack of investigations.
