Did anyone think Republicans would actually do something that would help their constituents. Anyone who thinks their GOP rep represents them is kidding themselves. They are for Trump/wealthy and pedophiles.

These people have no ideas. They may have been intelligent at one time but now they all share Trump's brain and you can see the results.

Why is US "exceptional" in not providing decent health care? The US healthcare system, run by for profit insurers is the most expensive with the worst outcomes of democratic countries. Our life expectancy is dropping while increasing elsewhere. Why? www.commonwealthfund.org/publications...

I wish they had held out but if GOP was never going to agree to the ACA subsidies even for 1 year what could they do? Once in awhile Trump seemed like he might help but I don't believe he understands insurance or how unaffordable paying for healthcare is.Maybe rename it Trumpcare. Then he might help.

No problem. Have a great evening.

I wish they could have held out but if GOP wouldn't ever agree to enhanced subsidies I don't know what they could do. Trump has waffled on helping & then not. I doubt he understands the ACA, insurance or the impossibly high costs of medical care. if they renamed it Trumpcare maybe he would help.

So what were their options if Republicans would never agree to extend the ACA enhanced subsidies. Like it or not there are more of them than Democrats in Congress right now.

Since you weren’t there what do you think ended chemical
Dumps, smog alerts, massively polluted lakes and streams, acid rain, no gay rights, no voting rights bill? Massive corporate good will? No. It was the protests.
November 8, 2025 at 4:54 PM
People have civil rights, gay marriage, clean air & water because of protests. Protest after protest. Sit in after sit in. Yes, elites are trying to roll those back. It's up to you younger folk now to choose how people vote & what rights you have going forward. If you say you can't you're right.
November 8, 2025 at 12:11 PM
If you don't keep at it, you are correct, the "elites" will continue to roll back your rights. Sad to say, but that's the way things work. Wealth inequality is at the heart of many of today's issues. You're gonna have to demand "yours" or the elites will continue blaming "others" for your woes.
November 8, 2025 at 11:30 AM
Protests do work. Voting works. It's how things changed over the years I have been alive. I fear younger folk quit if they don't get immediate gratification, & the "elites" you speak of hope for that. Boycotts and strikes also work as we saw with Target DEI Union strikes. Just keep doing it.
November 8, 2025 at 11:27 AM
I thought I was the only one who felt like that. It's exhausting being social.
November 8, 2025 at 11:19 AM
Just do it. Here are me and my boomer friends protesting for your futures. It does have an impact. I wish there were more there for themselves. Way easier to say "it won't work" and not do it, then try. Get out there so we can drink wine and go to the movies as God intended. Thank you.
November 8, 2025 at 11:08 AM
If you spend all your time complaining that nothing can change, you are absolutely right.
November 8, 2025 at 10:50 AM
Please see original post. Post "complained" that boomers say young people don't know how easy they have it. This is simply not true. On the other hand I see many other posts blaming boomers. And as far as electing people who represent you, that's on young people. Run for office. Protest. We did.
November 8, 2025 at 10:49 AM
Blaming boomers for this is unhelpful. I put myself through college, I had a crappy first apartment & drove a car everyone laughed at. I had to make choices. That said, I do think it's harder now for young people. So, you must elect people who represent you & not wealthy & fight for your rights.

I don't think anyone expects him to fulfill all his campaign promises. They will expect him to try.The wealthy are not going to leave NYC. NYC is great because of immigrants not in spite of.They are all part of the immigrant story. When everyone does better, their lives will be better too. They know.
November 6, 2025 at 12:07 PM
Wouldn't it be something to see GOP doing something, anything to help their own constiuents instead of Trump/themselves/pedophiles/Argentina/wealthy. It would be quite the day.
