@finchleypollinator.bsky.social
A group of Finchley residents encouraging local individuals, communities and organisations to support our essential and life sustaining pollinators.
Our initiative to encourage #Finchley residents to sow #wildflower mini-#meadows in September and October is going strong. We have over 100 sign-ups and about 17 meadows already prepared. See a few photos to get inspired- we can't wait to see blooms in spring for #pollinators and #biodiversity

#NoMowMay is Plantlife’s annual campaign urging everyone to pack away the lawnmower, let wildflowers grow freely and help nature. Even the smallest wild patch can provide vital food needed by bees and butterflies, and giving nature the best start to summer. @plantlifeuk.bsky.social

We enjoyed facilitating a #pollinator-friendly gardening workshop at a local car-free "Play Street" initiative. The plants were grown by a local agroecological farm GROW and our visitors had varying levels of gardening experience. Nothing like getting mucky and learning new skills!
