This is the problem with uncertainty - businesses slow investing and start cutting costs to be prepared for the heightened risk of a downturn. Even if you ignore the impact of tariffs, policy uncertainty itself could lead to an economic slowdown or recession.

While I think Tesla is a shell game and grossly overvalued, those focusing on its decline over the past month should realize that it’s up +22% over the past six months (vs +5% for the US market). Elon has still made billions on the Trump trade.

Over the past month, four markets have shown concern about the US economy. Bond yields have dropped and are flirting with inverting, the US equity market has declined while international markets have gone up, expected volatility (options market) has increased, and the US dollar has weakened.

This is the most impactful book I have ever read. It is about a longitudinal study on happiness conducted by Harvard since 1938.

In short, 1) relationships matter to physical and psychological health and 2) it’s never too late to make healthy changes.
