At the end of the day, liking a black character or thinking it was bad to write Sky as sassy in a fic doesn't qualify you to speak over the voices of black and brown people and I'm not sure why you brought that up so frequently in your thread, for brownie points?

The truth of the matter is that there is bigotry in this fandom. Lots of it. Subbottomviktor week was created directly out of spite as the creator posted this on twt when they were making the week.

Shutting down the entire conversation isn't the solution when the goal is to know better and to do better. To make fandom a safer, collaborative space.

I think that is the issue. You don't share experiences with poc who are engaging in this discourse. It's okay to not know, what isn't okay is to villainize people who do speak up about it in order to encourage unpacking implicit bias. Sometimes it's better to listen and learn,

The only people I disagree with are racists, transphobes and ableist people.
