can't the "annoying progressive fringe" carry SO/Maplewood (and nowhere else)? they win every school board election, for one thing. i'm personally seeing a lot of Mejia signs and nothing else yet. poor mailman had one piece for me today - a Way flyer. still need someone to tell me who to vote for.

Bingo

it's like when everyone calls the same thing underrated

feels like any time i call a camera angle too high, i'm obliged to say that the low-ass Florida Panthers angle sucks, and i root against them for fear of having to watch important playoff games from that vantage point.

i always thought the problem was the 100' width, but they've taken the boards in and it still looks overly high. it also seems like this camera operator is drifting very slowly?

... is this about Whittingham? he's still decades away from Paterno and Bowden. i was also surprised to learn how old Cignetti is.

It hasn't mattered because USC has sucked ass for 15 years, somehow this is Notre Dame's fault.

when ND lost 8 in a row, they regrouped and got better.

when USC lost 11 of the next 15, suddenly the challenge was "too hard" for them.

Kirk is overextended and TNF is the least important thing (to him) on his plate.

Meanwhile the random MLB national broadcasts (Facebook, Apple) were produced in the background by MLB Network, so they more or less went off flawlessly from a technical perspective.

I drive a Bolt EUV so I'm inclined towards a little EV, but $40k and no speedometer?
December 24, 2025 at 12:01 AM
that's great. what you think will happen to a relegated team?

Carlos Delgado did patriotic song protests well before it was cool, the white nationalists hated him. "Minaya's Entire Team is Spanish."

I gave a token amount to a worthy cause supported by a poster on here and I think they spent the entire amount direct mailing me for more.

Lived in Queens for years and spent a lot of time in Forest Park. Loved to run on the bridle paths!

Trump often identifies a real problem before proposing an insane solution to make the situation worse.
December 23, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Why is the golf course taking land that could make Forest Park twice as large and twice as good?

to get a free roll we'd need to play in a conference championship game! (we actually did get a free roll in the 2020 ACC championship game, which reinforces my belief that those games should count win or lose).

Michigan was ND's first opponent, so they "go farthest back."

Both long hiatuses were Michigan's fault. (1902-1942, 1944-1978). ND handed the termination letter right before kickoff of the 2014 game because Michigan was loudly signaling they'd do the same after one more home game.

1999 Marshall's roster would have been portal poached by then.
December 23, 2025 at 2:36 PM
I had a JetBlue flight lined up with the second half of the 2013 super bowl, which would have been perfect except for the long delay for a power outage at the stadium.
December 23, 2025 at 1:45 PM
wait a minute, why is any party included in the CFP? Swarbrick was in the negotiating room with the conference presidents!! G5 was included for fear of antitrust suits. P5 were present because it's not a "national championship" without them, ditto Notre Dame.
December 23, 2025 at 2:27 AM
two whole playoff teams have their wins over Notre Dame as the primary marker on their resumes. neither would be in the playoff without that win. it was the highest TV rated game of Miami's season, and it matched the big "t.u." game for A&M. there's a lot of upside and a lot of money in playing ND.

Since the end of Lou Holtz's tenure (27 normal seasons), they've played Air Force 6 times and Army 5 times. The Army series was formative for ND as a program but they simply don't play that much anymore.
