I lived my entire life in blind safety bc there were no wars in my yard, my town, my region. I raised my sons to sing, build and love, bc military service was optional (but still honorable). Now we come to the hard end of that peace by the hands of our own “leaders”. The word, I think, is traitor.

I’m just a 61 yo woman whose healthcare, retirement, and status as an American have been downgraded to dispensable in the span of one month. I have no way to protect myself from this. A lifetime carefully saving for retirement lost when I’m least able to rebuild it.

I considered how many generations back my people came over from somewhere else. But then I remembered my ancestors were pirates, slave traders and slave owners. Before you point, your fingers at me, chances are your ancestors were bankers who denied loans, farmers who stole property, etc.
