New to me was Force of Evil in all the ways. I was somehow not aware of John Garfield, Abraham Polonsky and their HUAC misfortunes. Garfield has a face made for noir and the attitude to match. The smartest guy in the room would know better than to take on the room itself.

I rarely rewatch movies as I have a compulsion to see new ones but that means I've only seen some of the all-timers once when I was a stupid kid. So this noirvember I rewatched two of the quintessential giants, The Maltese Falcon and Double Indemnity. Both eminently worthy and genre-defining
