Banning TikTok was the biggest own goal of the US. The reactionaries that want to ban social media platforms really haven't thought it through.

Banning TikTok = Empowering RedNote
Boycotting Twitter = Empowering fascists

So basic that it's crazy that so many don't understand.

"Ah, but you can't trust polls in Romania because [this and this partisan reason]"

Yet they are, even if with bigger margins of errors than in other places, usually accurate enough. So the shocking part is not the errors on Lasconi, Ciolacu or Cuicǎ - it's the Georgescu error.

It also wasn't simply a lack of polling or specific pollsters failing. All pollsters had Georgescu in a short range of results, very far from the result.

What happened in Romania and polling is an interesting case. The error on Georgescu is gigantic, and it's not mirrored in candidates from the same populist camp.

Mainstream candidates all have high errors (positive for Lasconi and negative for the government's candidates).

Incredibly interesting museum about how over time the Andalucian people fought and gained autonomy and the role of Blas Infante. A must-go if you're ever near Seville.
