Just how the world works. Look at all the WWE fans that stick around despite their constant deals with Saudi Arabia. Entertainment is still important, to a lesser degree but still important. One can't live on work alone, you'd go nuts or burn out.

Personally I would consider drawing smut to be more of a side hustle than it being the main/sole source of income. For those that make money off it, that is.
