Hum. Adding onto this theory, the healthcare premiums will be felt - people will touch the fire as @thebulwark.com frequently calls it. In December, the pain will be on republicans who refuse to negotiate.

Fair point. However, progressivism is not universally wanted. 60% of the U.S. lives firmly in the middle of between conservatism and progressivism. I’ve lived or have family in many places in the U.S. rural, urban, and suburban. Costal and flyover. What people care about varies greatly.

It doesn’t. God’s comment was a lesson for progressives who live in their own echo chambers. A better statement would be - look across the wins. Look at what they had in common - authentic and positive leadership in their local communities. They responded to their constituents need for change .

He showed how to win in New York City - a progressive space. Taking that as a blanket “this is how you win” is a way to lose places where that wouldn’t work.
